LIST OF FAQs for NIS 2024

FAQ 1: Can a shooter participate if his/her school does not have an official shooting club, and he/she is a private shooter?

A: Participants of NIS 2024 must be a student who is endorsed by their school for the registration to be valid. We will not be accepting registrations directly from students without the endorsement of their school. For private shooters who are still schooling, and are interested to participate in NIS 2024, the participant is required to either:

A. Have a school teacher to register on their behalf, or

B. Register with us directly and submit an Endorsement Letter signed by a teacher-in-charge or school principal stating that the school is willing to send the student(s) as a representative.

Please note that shooters who have just graduated from JC/ Poly and have not officially enrolled into university, as they are technically not a student of a specific institution at this point in time, they will unfortunately not be allowed to participate in NIS 2024, even if the JC/Poly which they have graduated from is keen to endorse them.

FAQ 2: For private shooters, what details must be included in the endorsement letter from the school?

A: In general, we will need to see the school's name and student's name in the letter, and we will need the teacher to describe their role/position in the school.

Possible examples of wording can be as such:

A. <school> endorses <student> to participate in NIS 2024

B. <school> is willing to send <student> to participate in NIS 2024

C. <student> will be representing <school> in NIS 2024

Please contact us to request a sample endorsement letter if required. Private shooters who are do not have endorsement from the school will not be considered to have a valid registration. We seek your kind understanding.

FAQ 3: Will there be finals for NIS 2024?

A: There will not be any finals.

FAQ 4: Can we join NIS 2024 if we are not a current student in any school?

You can register for NIS 2024 if you fulfill any one of the following conditions:

1. A member of SSA Constituent Clubs;

2. A student member of MOE School/ Polytechnic/University Shooting Clubs.

3. An athlete from Singapore Disability Sports Council

If you do not fall under 2 or 3, and are a SAFRA shooting club member, we advise you to approach the SAFRA counter to register under SAFRA.

FAQ 5: Can pre-order of merchandise be made without payment upfront, then make payment during eventual collection of the merchandise?

A: As our merchandise is selling as a pre-order, we seek your kind understanding that we would have to collect the funds through PayNow upfront. In the case that teachers/coaches cannot PayNow on behalf of the students and collect cash from students later, students are allowed to get their parents to conduct this online PayNow payment, as long as the screenshots for proof of payment contain students’ email in the description and the transaction number.

Do note that the person collecting the items will have to be the same as the name on the order. We will not pass your items to a third-party.

FAQ 6: Will there be sale of merchandise during the event?

A: Yes, we will have a physical booth for the sale of our merchandise this year. However, we have limited stocks available so we would highly reccommend to pre-order before the event.
